James’ Surgery

On December 3, 2011, my first grandson, James Godfrey McBride IV was born into our family. He has been a blessing to us already, and we are looking forward to seeing the Lord use Him to bless others throughout his life. He was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, and will be having his first open heart surgery tomorrow morning at 7:00. We have already seen the Lord’s provision and sovereignty this week, and we look forward to seeing Him move tomorrow. As a family, we are clinging to these verses:

“Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out; you formed me in my mother’s womb. I thank you, High God- you’re breathtaking! Body and soul, I am marvelously made! I worship in adoration- what a creation! You k now me inside and out, you know every bone in my body; You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something. Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth; all the stages of my life were spread out before you, The days of my life all prepared before I’d even lived one day. ” Psalm 139:13-16 (MSG)

These verses assure us of God’s perfect plan for James’ life- that God has prepared every day for him before he was even born. We know that He who began a good work in James will be faithful to compete it, and we cling to this very promise. His middle name “Godfrey” means “God-Peace.” We find peace in knowing that He is in the palm of God’s hand, and He gives us a peace that passes all understanding.

As he undergoes surgery, please pray for the following things:

1. Wisdom and discernment for the doctors and nurses before, during, and after his surgery
2. Courage and peace for Buddy and Mallory
3. Strength and endurance for James’ body during the surgery
4. A strong recovery for James that can only be described by God’s power

I am praying for James, the doctors, nurses and all who come in contact with Janes, and for a protective covering of the Holy Spirit over every aspect of surgery and recovery. Also, for all of you as well. To God be the Glory!!!!

Sheila I have been praying for you and yours since we bumped into each other -shopping. Remember my testimony of Faith and her kidney and Hannah Cate and everything. Well what he’s done for us He’ll do for you (yours). The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. (Revelation 19:10) He’ll do it again. Praying

We prayed for your boy this morning. God is good and He knows our needs better than we do. Cling to God’s promises, allow His grace to be sufficient and know we will continue to pray for James, Buddy and Mallory in the days to come.

I am praying for baby James as he begins his journey tomorrow. This hits home for me. My son was born with Critical Aortic Stenosis and had an 8 hour surgery on March 15th of this year and we were not given much hope after surgery but today he is 11 months old and doing great! We still have several surgeries ahead of us but we have God to thank for our precious baby. Baby James will be just fine and I will be praying for him and his mommy and daddy. May God be with your family during this time.

Jim and Sheila, Matthew and I are just learning of James’ situation. Praising our Lord for James’ little life. Praying that our Lord continue to draw close to Mallory’s heart especially. Only our Lord could keep a mother’s mind in perfect peace while not being able to hold her child and care for him. We in Him are always praying for the Lord to take us deeper into a relationship with Him, and to allow us to know Him more intimately. I know that the Father doesn’t waste our pain and that He will use all of this to draw you all into a closer relationship with Him. May He allow you to continue to experience Him in ways you never have before!! It’s encouraging to know that because we know Jesus and His power, we can come out on the other side with a sound mind and stronger in our Faith!
